Tin Can Bay is an ideal central location for exploring the Fraser and Sunshine Coasts. Whale watching just over an hour away at Hervey Bay. Historic Maryborough with its street markets on a Thursday. Sit by the wharf and enjoy a cuppa overlooking the Mary River.

Close to Tin Can Bay is Gympie which is also located on the Mary River. Gold was discovered in 1867 and visiting the Gold Mining Museum is an education must. The Mary Valley Rattler steam engine commences from Gympie crossing scenic bridges, curves, gradients and small villages on the rail to Imbil 40k’s away. Take a round trip of approx 110k’s to the wonderful Wolvi Mountain region, taking in the Wolvi Mountain Lookout and see the sights in one day.
