There is a recall on Digitel Australia Pty Ltd 3-ton capacity (6,600 lb) jack stand, adjustable from 11-7/16" to 16-3/4", heavy duty steel body.
The recall notice states that “the product does not meet the requirements of the mandatory standard ‘Consumer Protection Notice No. 12 of 2008, Consumer Product Safety Standard for Vehicle Support Stands'. The product may buckle during use.” The notice states this may cause a hazard as “If the product buckles during use it may pose a crushing hazard, resulting in serious injury or death to the user.”
The notice requests consumers to immediately stop using the support stands and dispose of them safely and for consumers to contact Digitel Australia to arrange a full refund. The stands were available for sale from 1 June 2017 to 8 September 2017.
